Version 3 – 26.3.2008 Many of he items on this checklist are cleaned during the course of a working day in any event, but at least once every 6 months this checklist is used to perform a "spring-clean". It is the responsibility of the DSA to ensure that this is done. Clean and/or disinfect: 1. Interior and exterior of lockable blue metal cupboard. 2. Exterior of Tork towel dispenser. 3. Exterior of Tork hand wash dispenser. 4. Inside autoclave door, door seal and tank. 5. Exterior of autoclave. 6. Behind and underneath autoclave. 7. Exterior and interior of ultrasonic bath. 8. Exterior of Assistina. 9. Cabinetry - work surfaces and upstands. 10. Cabinetry - washbasins. 11. Cabinetry - taps and tap levers. 12. External panels and upholstery on dental chair and unit. 13. Footplate on base of dental chair. 14. Operating light (nb reflector and shield) and operating light arm. 15. “Over The Patient” arm. 16. Computer monitor and monitor mount. 17. Computer keyboard and mouse covers. 18. Electricity consumer unit (ie fuse box). 19. X-ray digital sensor, sensor cable and wall mounted control box. 20. X-ray tube-head and supporting arm. 21. X-ray control box, switch and curly cable. 22. Exterior of cup dispenser. 23. Operators’ stools – including footrests, “spider”, wheels, hydraulic piston, underside of seat and upholstery. 24. Suction tubing. 25. Extractor vents. 26. Cabinetry – cupboard doors, drawer fronts & handles (nb underside of drawer fronts and cupboard doors). 27. Cabinetry – remove drawer and cupboard contents, discard drawer linings, clean drawer & cupboard interiors (nb removable plastic inserts & trays), renew drawer linings, replace contents. 28. Cabinetry - inside of bin cupboards. 29. Cabinetry - under bullnose of worktop edges. 30. Cabinetry - desk surface below computer monitor. 31. Telephone. 32. Wall-mirror. 33. Windowsills. 34. Horizontal surfaces of window blinds. 35. Remove any cobwebs from junction of wall & ceiling. 36. Both sides of surgery doors, door handles and signs. 37. Light switch. 38. Wooden chairs (including upholstered parts). 39. Carpet. 40. Skirting boards. 41. Non-slip flooring. 42. Exterior of air conditioning unit. 43. Fire extinguisher and wall bracket. 44. Desk (surgery 1 only). 45. Exterior of stock cupboard (surgery 1 only). |
